Mat-Su Transit provides bus service throughout the Valley, and there are also several taxi companies operating in the area. If you're looking for more flexibility, you can rent a car or fly into the Mat-Su Regional Airport.
As a realtor and being extremely familiar with the area, I wanted to write some blog posts detailing all the things people may look for or need living in the MatSu Valley. One of those is public transportation – or transportation in general. You can see other Local Resources by clicking that link.
If you are carpooling there are Park ‘n’ Ride locations in the MatSu Valley; Corner of Seward Meridian and Parks Highway as well as at Trunk Road and Blue Lupine Road.
Public Transportation Options:
A-Cab We want a better rider experience. We have been improving our fleet and adding new vehicles to reducing customer wait times.
Alaska Cab Valley LLC Alaska Cab Valley, LLC has been serving the Mat Su Valley and the surrounding areas with prompt, friendly and reliable transportation services since 1999. We are proud to be a local, family-owned and operated small business with a strong community outreach component.
AK RideShare AK RideShare, offers alternative transportation for work commuters into and out of the Southcentral Area. This MOA Public Transportation division offers a 7- to 15-passenger Crossovers, SUVs, and vans to commute to and from work.
Chickaloon Transit Our mission is to provide the safest, most efficient transportation infrastructure for the tribe, our citizens, and the public. This includes FHWA’s mission of enhancing mobility through innovation, leadership, and public service.
*Lifehouse Clinic for Chickaloon Village also provides a transportation option. The Chickaloon Village Traditional Council offers transportation for medical, dental, vision, and behavioral health visits at Life House Clinic.
Sunshine Transit Sunshine Transit Coalition started in March 2009. An educational symposium in 2008 pinpointed transportation as one of the biggest barriers to education and health care. The Coalition’s goal was to break down those barriers and make transportation easy and accessible to every resident no matter what their income level.
Valley Transit Valley Transit is a non-profit that provides public transportation for the Mat-Su. Operating Monday-Saturday we offer a fixed scheduled between the Valley & Anchorage and demand response service within the Valley.
