1. Dress | Prepare | Pack for Cold Weather. Alaska is known for its cold weather. While the winter months can be harsh and unforgiving, there are a few things you can do to dress and prepare for the cold weather. Layer your clothing, avoid cotton socks, mittens instead of gloves, keep your head warm and keep snow out of your boots. With the right clothing and preparation, you can enjoy your time in Anchorage even during the coldest months of the year.

2.Winter  Time has Plenty of Activities. With long days, warm temperatures and plenty of activities, it’s no surprise that summer is the busiest season in Alaska. From hiking and camping to fishing and kayaking, there are plenty of things to do in the summertime. However, don’t discount winter either! There are still plenty of activities available during the colder months such as skiing, snowshoeing, snowmobiling and more. To be eligible for a permanent fund divdend, you must have been an Alaska resident for the entire calendar year preceding the date you apply for a dividend and intend to remain an Alaska resident indefinitely at the time you apply for a dividend.
